# Allowed File Types

**Purpose:** The Allowed File Types scanner is designed to automatically identify unwanted files used in file uploads and attachments.

**Functionality:** It analyzes the attached file type, such as .txt, .xml, and .pdf, to determine if it is allowed to work with the agent.

**Usage:** The Allowed File Type selector is commonly used with agents that are commonly analyzing data from a static file. It allows the agent to serve a very specific purpose within your company.

Please make sure that your files are in one of the supported formats before uploading them to an agent:
